The Sound of Silence

TAKE 15 MINUTES OUT OF YOUR BUSY SCHEDULE

Taken from an interview with Anne Graham.

Question, “How could God allow these things to happen?” referring to a disaster

Anne, “I believe God is deeply saddened by this, just as we are, but for years we have been telling God to get out of our schools, to get out of our governments and to get out of our lives. And being the gentleman that He is, I believe He has calmly backed out. How can we expect God to give us His blessing and His protection if we demand that He leaves us alone?”

(Partly taken from a lecture/seminar of Richard Rohr)

Silence is the language of God. Move everything out of your mind that is not from Him. Negative thoughts will come. Just let them know they are not appreciated.

Repeat slowly: – wait 20 seconds between each line –

“Be still and know that I am God” (20 seconds)

“Be still and know that I am.” (20 seconds)

“Be still and know.” (20 seconds)

“Be still.” (20 seconds)

(Now sit still for 10 minutes)

“Be.”

“To Be, or not To Be” – “To Live, or not To Live” – “To Love, or not To Love”

“MAY OUR ATTITUDE BE GRATITUDE”
